VOLUNTEERING

Do you like animals and like working with animals? Do you enjoy working with people? Do you delight in making a difference? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you'll surely enjoy volunteering with the Friends of the Animal

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR VOLUNTEERS

  A serious concern for animal welfare

  An enjoyment of working with animals and people

 Attendance at orientation and training sessions

   A willingness to take direction

  An interest in learn

   Attending monthly volunteer meetings (not mandatory, but beneficial)

   An understanding of the shelter's philosophies and policies

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

            Working one-on-one with animals at the shelter

            Walking, grooming, bathing, socializing, loving

PET OUTREACH

Taking pets to nursing homes and schools

Computer work and various office duties

PUBLIC RELATIONS/PROMOTIONS

Assisting the public with adoptions

Media work

Assisting with newsletter preparation

Photographing animals for website and writing animal descriptions
