The listings of pets on these sites are only PARTIAL. Your pet may be at the shelter waiting for you, even though you don't see him/her on these sites. Lost pets which come into the shelter have 5 days plus a Saturday, for you to redeem them. After this time, they become public property, and may be adopted to someone else, or destroyed depending on availability of kennels.

An average of eleven animals are brought to the shelter daily. If your pet is not there when you go to look for him/her, it is possible he/she could arrive later that same day. It is important to keep checking the shelter for your lost animal. Pets have been known to arrive at the shelter months after they've been lost.

 Please, FOR YOUR LOST PET'S SAKE, make stopping by the shelter regularly a priority.

It is also important for you to know that if your lost pet is an AKITA, CHOW, PITT BULL, BULL TERRIER, or ROTTWEILER, or a mix of one of these breeds, he/she has NO CHANCE OF BEING ADOPTED, since the shelter does not  make these breeds available for adoption.
